Hollow Form Ring
Design
Built like a box with walls, a ceiling, and floor, the hollow form ring is an exploration in designing 3D objects from sheet metal. Inspired from studying rings that fit the hand in an unconventionally streamlined way, this design was a challenge in working with complicated curves.
Keeping to a similar vocabulary, nickel, copper with a borax patina, and black oxidized alan head screws were used to make up this ring.
