Hello, my name is Damon Stevens.
Im an eager designer, maker, and builder living and working in Denver, Colorado. I specialize in the exploration of new design methods through prototyping and multi-disciplinary design approaches.
Background
I come from a long line of makers and artisans who work with their hands so it should be no surprise that I would carry on this tradition today. My father is a talented woodworker, my uncle a butcher, and my grandfather a barber. It is through this combination of professions that I found an interest in tools, materials, and how things go together.
My design approach primarily focuses on the juxtaposition of the old and new. A handful of the projects I have been involved in include new technology as well as the primitive and trustworthy methods of production. I find that combining these aspects yields great results in aesthetics, quality, and overall functionality. I strive to continue to show how unconventional methods and materials can be used together in order to better inform fellow makers out there of what might be possible.
Beyond objects and products I am very interested in spacial awareness. Environmental projects and designing spaces for individuals to properly interact with the objects inside them will be a never ending learning process for how I approach design.
