Leather Notebook

Analog Mercantile is a founder and creator of a modern ceramic mixing-glass for bartenders and mixologists alike that is designed to last and made 100% in the USA.

They came to us to produce a custom notebook that allowed the bartender to take notes on regular customers with the goal being better service. Located behind the bar with the server for safe keeping this notebook includes a section for the customer’s name, interests, drink preferences, contact info, and a place to sketch what they look like if desired. My teammate John helped me design the notebook to confined specs in order to fit into a custom handmade leather notebook pouch.

The notebook was designed from scratch starting with a simple flat template. A prototype was then made to see if the leather and dimensions chosen were compatible. Once approved, each notebook was laser cut from a larger leather hide, etched for branding, cleaned, hand stitched, and assembled for finishing. Five different combinations of brown and black leather were made for the sake of variety.
